Moving on from Scotiva's advice - ginger tea!

Grate a couple of teaspoons of fresh ginger into a mug, add 3 tsp honey and hot water. Ginger should help sweat out the fever and improve your body's ability to fight it, and honey is both a soother and a mild antibiotic. Add ribena if you don't like the taste, but it's actually quite nice!

Failing that, add the juice of a lemon and a shot of whisky.
